Friday Update, April 25th
The Cross and the Great Commission -
During Holy Week, the hymns, sermons, and traditions point our thoughts and souls to our risen Savior in powerful ways. Praise to the risen Christ!
Next in the liturgical calendar is the Day of Pentecost, in which we reflect on how the Holy Spirit indwells in the believers, empowering us to complete Christ’s final marching orders, “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:19-20). While all have been given the same Great Commission, each of us has a unique role in it. My wife and I believe that our role in the Great Commission is to return to Lima, Peru to help train the next generation of Peruvian missionaries in taking the Gospel to the 3 billion people who have no access to the Good News.
In 2023 my wife, son, and I moved to the States after finishing a seven year term as missionaries in Peru. The community at VCA has been such a blessing during this time of change. Now, we look forward to moving back to Peru in autumn of this year. While we will miss our VCA family, we take solace knowing that we are in your prayers. As you pray for us, we will pray that the Lord will send out many of the wonderful, bright students from VCA to their unsaved friends, family, and coworkers, to all who need the Gospel across United States, and to the “ends of the earth” so that all nations will worship Christ as Lord and Savior.
Again, thank you for hosting us and loving us during this time. We have loved being part of the VCA family, and are glad that we can still be part of it, even from afar.

Heads up, North Campus Parents! As we approach the final stretch of the school year, headphones are becoming increasingly important for student success. With upcoming testing and more individualized assignments, please take a moment to verify that your North Campus student has a working pair of headphones. If they have been lost or are no longer functioning, please consider replacing them. As a convenient option, VCA will provide students with a pair of earbuds for $1, which will be charged to the student's lunch account or invoiced, if requested by the student. Your support in ensuring they have this essential tool is greatly appreciated!
Attention Parents with children entering Kindergarten, 6th & 12 grades for 2025-2026: The next round of vaccines are due for students entering these grades next fall. Please make every effort to complete this BEFORE school begins in August. If your family has chosen not to vaccinate, a new vaccination waiver will need to be completed for the 2025-2026 school year. Please contact the VCA School Nurse, Shelly Schering, at sschering@vcacademy.info for more information.
UNIVERSAL SCHOOL CHOICE has passed! Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, all Indiana families will have school choice regardless of income. Please note that for the upcoming school year, 2025-2026, you will still need to supply the 1040 form from your 2024 tax return and fall within the income limits for your family size.
