Friday Update, Dec. 6th

I was recently listening to a podcast where the speaker shared a poignant story about a time when she was feeling overwhelmed. A friend sent her a bouquet of flowers with a simple card that read, "Give it to God." Four words, so simple, yet so profound—reminding us that no matter what challenges we face, we can always surrender them to God.

Last night, the Board of Directors held our December meeting, and we are filled with encouragement and gratitude for all that God is already doing at VCA. We praise Him for our amazing staff, our supportive and strong family community, and our student body that is eager to grow and learn. However, we also know that God has even greater plans for our school. While we don't yet know exactly what those plans may look like, we recognize that some of the steps ahead may be beyond our control or decision-making.

In Matthew 19:26, Jesus reassures us, saying, “With man this is impossible, but with God ALL things are possible.” It's often difficult to anticipate the outcome of any situation, and sometimes we may find ourselves able to dream, plan, and execute something on our own. But if we can accomplish it all by ourselves, perhaps it's not big enough. When we give it to God, He can achieve things that, in our eyes, may seem impossible, defy earthly logic, or surpass our understanding.

The Bible mentions prayer over 650 times and calls us as Christians to “pray without ceasing.” The Board is committed to praying for VCA, seeking discernment and guidance as we make decisions and set the vision for the future. We would love for you to partner with us in this prayer. As Matthew 18:19-20 reminds us, “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

If you are willing to join us in prayer, we ask that you pray in agreement with these words of Paul, customized for VCA:

“For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory, He may grant [VCA students, staff, families, and Board] to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in [their] inner being, so that Christ may dwell in [their] hearts through faith—that [they], being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that [they] may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Let us continue to trust God with the future of VCA, knowing that with Him, all things are possible.

Merry Christmas!

Tracy Banker, Chair

VCA Board of Directors
